Project Objective:

The purpose of the feasibility study project is to present the results of additional airspace and site life analyses performed by EnCAP-IT and Geosyntec of conceptual vertical expansion options using EnCAP-IT’s patented eMSE Berm technology. Additionally, the feasibility study project will provide permitting, timeframe, economic evaluation, and components of the vertical expansion.

EnCAP-IT has been engaged to design and permit an innovative eMSE berm at a Major MSW Landfill in Virginia that uses EnCAP-IT’s patented technology for encapsulated waste products in the berm’s construction.

Project Objective:

The Landfill is located in Virginia and has operated over 30 years with environmental integrity and innovative use of resources. The Landfill teamed with EnCAP-IT to re-configure the Landfill, to efficiently utilize existing solid waste management boundaries and maximize operational efficiency by using EnCAP-IT’s patented technology. The patented technology includes the use of encapsulated waste products in the construction of berms, including encapsulated mechanically stabilized earth (eMSE) berms, for vertical and/or lateral expansion of landfills. This project will be the second MSE berm to be permitted and constructed in Virginia, using EnCAP-IT’s patented technology. The Landfill retained EnCAP-IT for our expertise in the design and construction of eMSE berms and to add credibility to the design and permitting process.
